All 40 Euclidians held on to their seats as they watched the final 3 finalists who are vying for the title, "1st Euclidian IDOL". But only one will stand above the rest. She is none other than ABI Salazar! Abi who was one of the 2 avengers who were given the chance to go back to claim the title she now owns. CRIS Hau and ALD Go were proclaimed as the 1st and 2nd Runner-Ups respectively. 2 texters were also given prizes and they are Charlyn Chiong and Sigrid Gayangos.

60 public and private schools from the City stormed the Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School Gymnasium for the Three Day Division Schools Press Conference 2006 held last October 18 - 20, 2006. With the Theme - "Responsible and Quality Campus Journalism: Gearing up to the Challenges of School's First Initiative." Chong Hua Students entered in different categories and mediums. They were News Writing: English - Demi Rose Tinay and Filipino - Michelle Domantay, Feature Writing: English - Judy Anne Romero and Filipino - Lourdes Valeros, Editorial Writing: English - Sigrid Gayangos and Filipino - Arielle Dellosa, Sports Writing: English - Tebby Tuballa and Filipino - Judy Anne Romero, Copyreading: English - Danielle Ang and Filipino - Arielle Dellosa, Editorial Cartooning: English - Angeli Tua, and Photo Journalism: English - Jerison Macrohon. The Chong Hua group sang the song "Peng You" for their Intermission Number and invented the word "bisprin" (bestfriend) that was widely used at the Press Conference. Judy Anne Romero was elected as the Vice President-Internal for the Secondary Editor's Guild S.Y. 2006-2007 while Sigrid Gayangos and Jerison Macrohon were the Auditor and the Business Manager respectively. During the Awarding, Judy Romero entered the Regionals as the 7th Placer for Feature Writing (English) and 3rd Place for Sports Writing. Angeli Tua expectedly entered the regionals winning the 2nd Spot for the Editorial Cartooning and Sigrid Gayangos and Lourdes Valeros entered the regionals for their article for Editorial (English) and Feature Writing (Filipino) respectively. Chong Hua students are truly great writers and this was not possible without the effort of Ms. Aileen R. Bucoy.

12 private and public schools attended the Campus Journalism Seminar last October 14, 2006. This was sponsored by the Newly formed Zamboanga Journalist Group (ZJG) at the Red Cross Youth Hostel. Judy Anne Romero, Arielle Dellosa, Tebby Tuballa, Jerison Macrohon, Danielle Ang, Lourdes Valeros, and Ms. Aileen Bucoy participated in the said event. The Seminar-Workshop featured Interesting People like Monsinior Crisanton Dela Cruz, Ms. Suzette Delos Reyes-Kong and Hon. Congressman Erico Basilio Fabian. They talked about their life and how to make your dreams come true with patience and determination. A Press Conference with Hon. Vice Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco was the content of what these aspiring writers of the event were writing about. In the end, Chong Hua won 3rd Place for the Page Layouting.

The Math Program that was held on September 26, 2006 showcased talents and beauties of Chong Hua Students. The Highlights of the program were the Math Jingle and the First Mr. and Ms. Mathemania 2006. Ms. Aprille San Luis emerged victorious as she was crowned as the Ms. Mathemania 2006. Mr. Aldwin Go was the 1st Runner up of the Said event. The Juniors won the second spot on the Math Jingle. To all winners! CONGRATZ!!!!

We have just recieved information that Mr. Jollie Mar L. Elago just bagged the Chinese Oratorical Contest held at the Davao Central Chinese School in Davao City. He stunned judges from Manila not with his "Dimples" but thru his filipino blood. He has just a filipino blood not one single chinese blood yet he joined a contest full of pure chinese students all over the philippines. He is truly a person to be admired! To you JM.... Congratz!
